PayPal Prepaid Debit Card Mastercard
General Review
Overview
In this article we will be talking about the PayPal Prepaid Debit Card, this is a very convenient card that I can reload at Wallgreens or CVS (PayPal will charge a $3.99 fee for this service); with it I can easily get money from my PayPal account transferred into my prepaid debit card.
Benefits
The PayPal Prepaid Debit Card offers a lot of benefits and rewards for its users, Cash Back is one of them and with it you get back a percentage of your purchases whenever you use your card to pay for things, this amazing reward works as an incentive to use it more often whenever you have to pay for something.
Easy to get?
I was part of a test group that tried out the PayPal Prepaid Debit Card before it came out to the market and it was very easy to get because I already had my PayPal account. So, I’ve been using this card for a long time now and it’s very effective, I use it at ATMs, stores and also for online purchases, it doesn’t have a minimal credit amount.
Customer Service: not so great.
The PayPal’s customer service is pretty effective, you just go on their website and you can easily get a phone number to call to and solve any issue that comes up with your account. However, the PayPal Prepaid Debit Card is a whole different department and unfortunately, it’s not as great as PayPal’s customer service. With the PayPal Prepaid Debit Card customer service department you have to call and go through the whole process of talking to a PayPal agent, after this, your call will be transferred to the Prepaid department, where they will be able to help you out.
That’s the downside; it’s very hard to find someone to talk to about your PayPal Prepaid card, especially during the summer, festivities and holidays. The whole process can take up to one or two hours. Searching for help in the PayPal app or in the website before calling could save up time and could provide an answer in a shorter period of time.
$300 Dollar Limit
Another important characteristic that you should know about this card is that you can only transfer $300 dollars to it from your bank account. If you transfer more than this to your card, you’ll get it blocked.
Savings Account
PayPal also offers a Savings Account service, which you can attach to this card. You can only have a certain amount on this account and you’ll have to spend other amount specified by PayPal , there’s also a fee that PayPal charges whenever you transfer money to the Savings Account.
Physical Characteristics
The card is made out of plastic, its color is blue and it is and feels just like any other regular card. An important characteristic is that it doesn’t have a chip on it, so you’ll have to slide it whenever you are using it.
In Conclusion...
I’ve had this card for a long time now and it’s a good prepaid debit card, however, there are better options. To sum it up, it’s convenient as you can use it for online purchases, at ATMs and stores, you can easily reload it at Wallgreens and CVS but you’ll have to pay a fee, it works well if you use it while traveling, you can only transfer to it 300 dollars from you PayPal account or you’ll get it blocked and you can also attach a Savings Account to it. Thank you for reading this article, now you have a wider idea of what to expect about the PayPal Prepaid Debit Card.
